Abri Construction work with Kight Off-Grid to provide off-grid, green energy street lighting on new housing developments.

Abri Construction, one of the south of England’s largest house builder is working with Kight Off-Grid to install off-grid, green energy street lighting at four of its new developments with the first installation at their Emsworth site in Havant, Hampshire. Kight’s innovative street lighting solution will provide lighting for pathways as well as access roads.

Brian Ryves, Abri’s technical manager said, “Kight’s products are the perfect off-grid solution to help us on our journey towards net zero carbon. They negate the requirement for mains electricity to power street lighting on our sites moving forward and I am impressed with how easy they are to install and maintain. The solar panels and wind turbines are a striking visual manifestation of our commitment to sustainability in our new housing developments.”

Lawrence Fagg, Kight’s founder said, “we are delighted to be working with Abri Housing who are forward thinking in their approach to sustainable building practices. Our KV2 streetlights require no on-grid connection and provides a reliable, green energy solution comparable to any traditional on-grid lighting.”

Abri, a not-for-profit company, reinvest any profits straight back into building more homes and helping communities.  Abri Housing is committed to building 12,500 new homes by 2030, many of these being much needed affordable homes in partnership with Hampshire County Council.

Kight’s off-grid lighting solution allows developers to install streetlighting at a much earlier stage of the development as no on-grid connections are required. This helps improve site safety and security whilst saving money on temporary site lighting solutions.

With Kight’s off-grid streetlighting we are actively helping create a more sustainable future in the built environment of our developments.”
